SUMMARY:See, Sense, Spark: Profiling Granularity in Proactive AI for Creat
 ive Research Ideation
DESCRIPTION:Gahui Kim (Sungkyunkwan University, Immersive media engineerin
g); Yebom Choi (Sungkyunkwan University, Department of Human-Artificial In
telligence Interaction); and Changjun Lee (Sungkyunkwan University, School
of Convergence)\n\nWhat if proactive AI knew you so precisely that it ins
pired deeper curiosity instead of limiting it? In our study with See, Sens
e, Spark, a smart-glasses-based proactive AI, we compared coarse and fine-
grained user profiling during creative research ideation. Surprisingly, pa
rticipants with fine-grained profiles showed higher interest-driven curios
ity and stronger epistemic agency. These results suggest that when AI inte
rventions are more contextually relevant, they can enhance curiosity and r
eflective thinking more effectively than broad, random prompts. Profiling
granularity thus emerges as a key design parameter for future adaptive sys
tems that balance personalization, curiosity, and human–AI collaboration i
n complex cognitive work.\n\nRegistration Category: Enhanced Access, Exhib
