Kaan Akşit is an Associate Professor of Computational Light in the Computer Science Department at University College London, where he leads the Computational Light Laboratory. He earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Koç University, Türkiye (2014), his M.Sc. from RWTH Aachen, Germany (2010), and his B.S. from Istanbul Technical University, Türkiye (2007). His research explores the intersection of light and computation, spanning imaging, graphics, fabrication, and display technologies for 3D, VR, and AR. He previously worked at Philips Research, Disney Research, and as a Senior Research Scientist at NVIDIA (2014–2020).
