Junichiro Horikawa

Biography
Junichiro Horikawa is a Tokyo-based algorithmic designer and architectural programmer with a background in architecture. He specializes in creating complex geometric forms by designing the generative process itself, drawing inspiration from geometry and natural ecology. He earned a Master’s degree in advanced architectural design from Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture.
Currently, Horikawa is the CEO of Orange Jellies and serves as a specially appointed researcher at the Kyoto Institute of Technology. His expertise in geometric modeling is applied across architecture, product design, and fashion. He is a renowned educator, sharing his deep knowledge of computational tools like Houdini through his YouTube channel. He is the author of Algorithmic Design with Houdini and Parametric Design with Grasshopper. His work has won a Gold Pencil from The 2019 One Show, an Excellence Award at the 2020 Japan Media Arts Festival, and Winner of Lettering from 2023 NY TDC.
