Biography
Tobias Klein is an architect and internationally recognized artist. His work merges CAD/CAM technologies with site-specific narratives, intuitive processes, and cultural/historical references, establishing the concept of "Digital Craft." This framework synthesizes digital and physical tools/materials as poetic (Poïesis) and technical (Technê) expressions, challenging traditional separations between digital design and analogue making.

His work has been exhibited globally at venues including the V&A Museum, London Science Museum, Venice Biennale, Ars Electronica, MoCA Taipei, M+ (permanent collection), and Art Basel Hong Kong. A 2020 retrospective at The University Museum, HK, featured the publication "Metamorphosis or Confrontation."

Klein holds a PhD (RMIT), an M.Arch (Bartlett, UCL), and a degree from RWTH Aachen. He is an Associate Professor and MFA Program Leader at City University of Hong Kong's School of Creative Media, supervising research in Digital Craft, Extended Realities, and Augmented Materials.
