Cindy Lam is an Assistant Professor of Science Education under the Department of Ocean Science at HKUST, with extensive experience in experiential learning and ocean-science related education projects. She holds a PhD in Marine Environmental Science at the University of Oldenburg. She has extended her interest in developing innovative eLearning tools such as AR, VR and gamification to enhance students’ motivation and active engagement in lectures and lab courses. Recent projects include MarineXR in collaboration with tertiary institutions to develop an immersive VR eLearning app. Through interaction with virtual marine organisms, students learn about marine biodiversity and conservation strategies.
