Shingo Maeda received his Ph.D. from Waseda University in 2008. He joined Shibaura Institute of Technology in 2011, where he served as Assistant Professor (2011–2014), Associate Professor (2014–2019), and later as Professor (2021–2022). From 2015 to 2016, he was a Visiting Professor at The BioRobotics Institute, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Italy. In 2022, he moved to Tokyo Institute of Technology as a Professor and currently holds a professorship at the Institute of Science Tokyo. His research focuses on soft robotics and soft materials.
