Dr Allan Fowler is a Senior Lecturer in Design at the University of Auckland, specializing in game-based learning, human-computer interaction, and augmented/virtual reality. Originally from New Zealand, he returned in 2019 after serving as a tenured Associate Professor in the USA, teaching at institutions including Columbia University and Cal Poly. His research explores game jams, STEM inclusion, and neurodiversity. A sixth-degree black belt in Shorin Ryu karate, Dr Fowler blends academic innovation with personal discipline. He has received multiple awards for research and educational innovation and actively contributes to global game and computing education communities.
