Biography
Shuxin Yan WANG is a Hong Kong-based media artist whose art practice encompasses Experimental Film and Animation, Sound Effects, Robotic Installation, and HCI research publishing. WANG earned her Bachelor of Arts in Creative Media from City University of Hong Kong in 2023, followed by a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Media from the same institution in 2025. She researches experimental digital moving images and creates abstract animations and sound effects. She is also involved in humanities, psychogeography, and ethnographic research. A passion for ideologies is expressed through visual images, text, sounds, and micro/meta-narrativity, grounded in a feminist sensibility that integrates critical theory, cultural studies, and historiography—exploring new usage of previous media and expressing new media usage. Her academic writings primarily interrogate the creativity of interdisciplinary art. Most of her creative works have a visual, auto-ethnographic dimension. Her works have been shown at key venues and festivals in many countries.
