Tobias Eckerlin was born in Schwetzingen, Germany, in 1993. In 2012, he began studying communication design at Mannheim University of Applied Sciences, which he completed in 2018 with a Master of Arts. During this time, his specialization shifted from photography to real film and CGI. During his studies, he started freelancing and worked as a CGI artist in a small 3D agency. He also worked as a lecturer for photography and film. At the end of 2021, he began studying directing for animation at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.
