Meghdad Asadilari is an Assistant Professor of Motion Picture Science at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He holds an MFA in 3D Animation and an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, and has over a decade of combined industry and teaching experience in animation and visual effects at both undergraduate and graduate levels, including previous faculty roles at the Savannah College of Art and Design. An Emmy-nominated Animation Director for the web series Storyline Online, Meghdad has created award-winning short films and developed innovative workflows combining procedural, real-time, and motion capture techniques for both 2D and 3D animation. His research and creative work have been presented at GDC and UFVA. He was part of a faculty team that developed virtual production curricula with the support of an Epic MegaGrant, and in 2025 received the ASIFA-Hollywood Faculty Grant to further his creative and technical projects merging traditional artistry with emerging real-time production methods.
