Biography
Yumi Nishihara received her bachelor’s degree in Environment and Information Studies at Keio University in 2013. She is a researcher at Yasuaki Kakehi lab, the University of Tokyo. In addition to creating works in the fields of VR, haptics and inclusive design, in recent years she has developed a material and fabrication method for 4D food printing (magashi), as well as developed strand-based materials to create color changing textiles and shape changing braids for the Ambient Weaving project in collaboration with Hosoo Co., Ltd. and ZOZO NEXT, Inc.
