Harry Shum is the Council Chairman of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He was previously Executive Vice President of Microsoft Corporation, responsible for AI and Research until March 2020. He received his PhD in Robotics from School of Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University. He is a Fellow of IEEE and ACM, and an international member of National Academy of Engineering and Royal Academy of Engineering.
