Haruka Iwami
Biography
Haruka Iwami is a Kyoto-based graphic designer and researcher with a background in architecture. She specializes in designing information using techniques such as typography and diagrams. And her research topic is the circulation of materials in today's technologically advanced world. She earned a Master’s degree in computational design from Keio University Shonan Fujisawa Campus.
Currently, she works as an independent graphic designer while also serving as a project researcher at Kyoto Institute of Technology. Her expertise in several disciplines—computational design, graphic design, and architectural design—is valuable for archiving and exhibit academic research. As a researcher, she has participated as a core member in a project utilizing digital technology to reuse reclaimed wood from building demolition and completed the construction of a pavilion made from it on campus. In 2024, this project received one of the top awards at the SD Review, a renowned competition in Japan.
