Waldemar Celes is the director of the Tecgraf Institute of Technical-Scientific Software Development of PUC-Rio (Tecgraf/PUC-Rio). He is a researcher professor in the Computer Science Department at PUC-Rio, Brazil, and a former postdoctoral associate at the Program of Computer Graphics, Cornell University. His current research interests in computer graphics include real-time rendering, scientific visualization, physical simulation, and distributed graphics applications. He is also one of the authors of the Lua programming language.
