Biography
I am an Assistant Professor of General Systems Studies at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, the University of Tokyo. After receiving my PhD, I visited the University of Bath and ETH Zurich for the short term. There, I began developing Airy's stress function-based shell form-finding tools. In 2015, my first paper was accepted by Siggraph. From 2015 to 2020, I worked as an architect at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (Chicago, US) for 4.5 years, pursuing truly significant research subjects. In 2020, I returned to Japan and have been in my current position since then. In 2022 and 2024, two more of my papers were accepted by Siggraph.
